Cosy cafe with nice shady trees on the street. The staffs were really friendly and it made me felt welcomed. Had Kentaro style Omurice. The yummy creamy sauce is well balanced by the tomato rice, would recommend visiting.
Ordered mentaiko linguine ($28), fluffy mentaiko omurice($27), matcha lamington and matcha latte.
Food were served super fast and freshly made. But the portion and looking were not satisfying given the price. Omelette was super soft and creamy 😋 Pasta was not mixed well with mentaiko paste and looked messy. Lamington had authentic matcha flavor but the texture was very dry.
Overall very cute and stylish spot with friendly people. It would be great to have more vegetarian options
I visit this cafe periodically because it was one of my favorite cafes. But today was really disappointed . The quality of the food seems to be getting worse. The pork katsu was so tough that I had to cut it with a knife and beef nikuten was way too salty. But more than that, I couldn't finish my coffee so I went to the counter and asked to barista for a takeaway cup. She didn't answer and took my coffee with an expression of annoyance. She wasn't even busy. It was such a disappointing customer service. I've been visiting there regularly for almost four years, and I won't go anymore.
Nice little cafe in a quiet part of Bourke St in Surry Hills. Some Japanese inspired selections for something different. Their signature soft shell crab omelette was nice. As was their matcha lamington. My friend enjoyed the pork katsu sandwich and the beef lasagne. Great friendly service on offer here.
Today I was able to explore another Sydney eatery. I had been meaning to go to kentaro because someone had previously raved about it on Instagram, and I finally went today. The staff, both male and female, were very attentive, someone wrote in a review that they seemed uncaring, but that didn't happen to me. Also, Margo, the nice lady with the red lipstick, was very friendly and smiling and kept me company throughout, which made me feel at home. Thank you very much! I am going to be a fan.
I had the omelette with mentaiko sauce. It was just plain delicious! I wanted more sauce lol.
This restaurant is evenly matched with an omelette restaurant called OMU. And the cod roe omelette omelette I ordered here had a little cheese mixed in with the eggs.
The location is hard to get to, but I would like to try the demi-glace omelette when I visit again.
It felt very homely, and I could not stop ordering the matcha desserts and omurice. Everything was so tasty and it was obvious they used good quality ingredients. Also, the service was quick and we were treated very nicely.
A nice cosy neighborhood cafe featuring a variety of Japanese drinks, dishes, and dessert. I particularly enjoyed the roasted soy latte without sugar.
Supremely tasty bites. Used to just come for a solid matcha latte, but we thought hey let’s sit down for brunch! …
